Hi everyone.
Some of you know me and have met at least ONE of my Retrivers over the years and know how much they mean to me.
Just had to throw this up for you to share?
After working my one mandatory weekend a month from Friday at 5 AM straight through to Saturday at Noon.
I hit Fuddruckers for a 1 pound Burger, some Rings and a pop.
Drove home, had me a nice long shower and hit the rack.
At 4 PM I was awoke by the sound of Sniff, Sniff, Sniff and a few light kisses?
Thinking it was Bonnie looking for some action from these old bones, I cleared me head and turned to see to my surprise a cute little full blooded eight week old Golden Retriver pup.
Beautiful!
Made me tear up a little as I had lost my two older Retriver friends Buddy of 13 years and Beckey of 9 years in the past 13 months.
This NEW little friend really digs me and we have hit it off really well.
He is not Buddy or Beckey, nor is he ment to be.
Not even Like there Kids Bailey or Barney, nor do I expect him to be.
He is what he is and he is my Wonderful NEW Best friend.
First thing he did was Eat, Drink, Whiz, Burp, Fart, then streach out on MY bed, then take in some football on the Tube before he was off to catch some ZZZZ!
Now what else could I name a dog like that?
Not Bob, Bill, Biff, Fido, Rover or Sam.
Nope, only one name for a guy like him!
It popped in to my brain just before he hit the sack!
HOMER is his name.
Homer Jay all the way.
Homer Jay Wehler!
Into everything and looking at me as if it was ALL my fault or just the most natural thing in the world to do.
And it is all fine with me.
Homer rock's, and Bonnie has given me a new Best friend to spend many, many and hour with.
Now he has to fight it out with Bailey & Barney, Bonnie and paying clients for prime seating in the boat on our many fishing times ahead.
Start him out in the fish shack to tune him up for the open water season.
Hopefully he will do well and make it on the web page this summer as well!
LOL
Homer Jay all the way!
So if your in the area of our Island on Vermilion next season or see us out on the ice this winter, please stop in to meet my new best friend, Homer Jay.
:)
No doubt he will be greeting everyone dock side and escorting them to the Grill!
Life is good and I'm one happy guy.
Thanks Bonnie, your the very best!
