I'm looking into making some homemade crankbaits this winter. Lexan or Metal? How do you determine the size lip you want? I'll probably start with some copys like wiley's and shallow raiders. How do you know what lip to get for them? All help is appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!

Hi Brian,
As far as determining which style lips to use, rounded lips (ie. Jakes) produce a good wobble with good tracking vs. squared lips produce less wobble, but with excellent tracking.
I added a design page to my web site www.geocities.com/out2llunge its got some info you may find helpful.
Good luck,
J.P.

Rollie and helen's has a great selection of both kinds. One nice thing about the metal lips is that they are a bolt on item. If it does not work bolt on another one.
I put a metal lip on a squirley burt that did not make it wobble but it did make it go deep. My dad took it off and put a big metal lip like the deep diving pigs have and you should see it wobble now!
