I have read that some feel that the aqua-vu lights scare walleyes,..but are we talking about the the IR lights, or the new colored lights (red/green)? As I understand you don't see ground feature very far with the IR lights but fish sort of "glow" further than you thought you could see,..I hear that the green/red lights are supposed to "see" farther than reg lights,...not sure if it causes more or less scatter. but if you have the older models that only have the (on and off switchable) IR lights , could you not attach a waterproof penlite with a red and one with a green lens? some are very bright (not sure you want it VERY bright) but its easy to attach things with those super fasters (sold at radio shack) they hold many times stronger than velcrow and water proof. For that matter you can buy stronger IR LEDS that can be soldered to a very small battery of the proper voltage,..(not sure how these jury rigged things work,..just possibilities,)..I had a more powerful IR LED that really brightened up my back yard,...not sure you just would get more scatter in some waters,...
