I am in charge of our July family vacation again this year and would appreciate any help finding one that my wife, kids, nieces, nephews, and siblings would enjoy. I am trying to find one that has kids activities (swimming, game room, etc) along with good fishing of course. I have found many moderately priced well equipped resorts, but of course they are full. I would love to find a place that we enjoy so we can keep going back to it every year. Please email me at j.grebin@worldnet.att.net. Thank you.

Jim,
My vote goes to Eddy's on Mille Lacs. Swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, volleyball, one of those huge water trampolines, oh yeah, and some of the greatest walleye and muskie fishing on the planet.

I would agree 100% with Grampa Joe!
Eddys is a full service resort from the launch service to the restaurant. Harbor docking is available and the location is prime, VERY close to some of the best fishing on the lake.
world class smallmouth, musky and walleye.

Hope that helps!

I've been to Ludlow's Island, but it doesn't have what he's asking for. It's an exceptionally nice place, but in terms of cost, it's way up there. It's a classy place and probably not what you're looking for to take a bunch of kids who are looking to have a good time. The only caveat I would give about Eddy's is the fact that the lake is on the other side of a busy road, which is a concern for parents of small children. There are dozens of resorts that fit the discription all over the state, I would get some of the state resort guides and start going through them.

North Shore Resort on Lake Lida MN is a great multi species fishery with a family atmosphere.

Great fishing, modern cabins, bait, boats & motors, etc, and guide service's available if required plus many other lakes in the area close by to check out and State Parks.

Check out www.leechlake.org for resorts on Leech Lake. Leech Lake provides great fishing and the resorts and area are much more family oriented than Mille Lacs. A perfect fishing/family vacation and there are many good resorts to choose from.

Here's a great place just out of Park Rapids on a chain of lakes. The kids can have a ball and fishing right off the docks has yeilded nice fish. Chuck and Paulette are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Take a look at their website. Very reasonably priced and clean.

Ahhh July in northern MN...hard to beat. We (my family, brothers and serveral co workers and their families)have been going to Cass Lake Lodge, Cass Lake MN for the last 8 years over the 4th.

The owners ( Mike and Terri McLafferty) run a top notch place, nice cabins, great camping ( we camp) wonderful protected harbor and some fantastic fishing on 5 lakes. Cass even has an island with a lake within the island. The chain is part of the Mississippi headwaters so theres plenty of parks, hiking and biking opportunities. Their phone number is 218 335 6658.

The drive from the twin cities is 3 hrs and theres plenty to stop and see on the way up or on the return run. The towns of Bemidji and Walker are a short drive from the lake.

Try Becker's Resort on Winnie. Great people-good cabins resonable prices. Swimming pool, Basketball, Volleyball, Paddle boats, canoes. just to mention a few. Probably will see a bunch of wild life. quiet at nights. About 1/4 mile from main road so traffic is no problem. Many many many repeat clients. I've been there for 15 years or so.
If need be shoppers can go to one of many nice towns nearby.
Give them a call
Jimbo (3rd weekend of july I'll be there)
