I am doing some last minute Christmas shopping and a sports shop near me has a pretty good deal on some X-Cell muskie rods I have never heard of these, just wondering if any one has any experience with this rod?

Believe it or not they aren't that popular but I have one!;) I don't like them very much at all they are way too stiff. I would try a gander mountain rod, thats going to be my next rod i'm buying it here in a couple days. They are like 40 or 50 and i spent 45 on my xcel. They are heavy and Can't feel strikes very well. Most of the muskys I can't even really tell I have on. If I were you I would get the gander mountain rod they are as cheap as Xcel. Xcel in my opinoin is a waste of money, I don't know how others rate them as jerkbait rods though. The gander mountain rod is a good all around rod.

I have an x-cel rod too, a 6'6", very heavy for a graphite rod, but very stiff, I like to use it for a jerkbait rod. I think i got it for around $35-40 I would say though, to get something like a gander mountain for $40 instead, but if the x-cel is cheap..like under $30, it a good rod, that is unbreakable.
