Repainting plastic baits?

Anyone ever repaint plastic lures ? I've got some really beat up lures that I just don't want to throw away. There is not much paint left on them. How do you go about repainting them? Do you strip all the paint off and start over, and top them off with eviro-tex?

hello, If I were you, I'd keep them the way they are but add a few thin layers of clear lacquer (envirotex with a brush applied). If you really want to repaint them (I do this when I can't get a color in the model I want to try), use a waterproof fine grain sanding paper and sand them down to the body. Then spray bright white paint on them. When all is dry, spray your favourite pattern and add clear lacquer (again not too thick so you don't alter the action). Good luck!
