what are some of the methods for lighting your tip-ups at night? i used a candle with a clear pop bottle over it once, but was wondering if there was a more efficient way of doing it like those glow sticks??

I'm not sure what your talking about but I assume the way of lighting in the dark. I own a joe bucher video and one segment he goes night fishing, He fishes in complete darkness until he feels the strike then he has this Head light that straps around his head, so his hands are free. When he goes to net the fish he just points his head toward the fish and he has light. Thats probaly an efficent way that is hands free.

Ryan,
The new glow sticks work real well. They sell them at most tackle shops that clip right onto the flag wire. I bought some last year and they still work. After each use bring them home and put them in the freezer.
Hope this helps
HT makes a light that clips to the flag and when the flags goes up a mercury switch turns on the light. You can find them at Fleet Farm or Gander Moutain.
