View Full Version : CHICAGO MUSKIE SHOW
Has anybody ever been to the musky show they have in Chicago. I believe it is January 11,12,13. I am thinking about going but it is about a four hour drive just wandered if it is worth it or is there not much to see? Long drive for the day to get disapointed. Thanks for any help.

This is the biggest its ever been with alot of new features,,you cant compare it to a sports show with campers and all the other stuff its alot smaller but everything is muskys,,the list of seminar speakers is worth the trip alone and alot of the retailers have show deals. The thing I like is the bait manufactuers bring a giant supply of lures and you get to pick through and pick out the best ones. Theres a swapmeet afterwards at a local bar where you can sell old lures to pay for your trip expenses or buy used lures at a great price. Im driving from mpls its worth it

I go to the show every year, and I would drive 4 hours to attend it. There are a gazillion lure shops, fishing lodge booths, boat dealers, etc. It is ALL for Musky fishing. Plus there are seminars as well. 1 day is all that is needed for the show, but well worth it. I kinda wish I wasn't going to it this year because I will once again spend way too much on lures!!!

Heck, I drove to the minneapolis show and it was woth it 2H. You will love the show and the swap meet saturday night. Plenty of seminars and stuff to see and buy. You will be glad you came.
There are five shows this year, chicago, madison, milwaukee, waukesha and minneapolis. I hope to be at all five of them. See you there!

Mid. Stalker,
See how it is and then at the Spring Fishing Show at the Int'l Center, maybe we'll have to set one up over there!

It will be a great show! Steve @ ed and shirleys said they are going to have a great big selection of baits at great prices. He said they bid on alot of musky baits from a distributor that was going out of business. So there will be a lot of great deals also!

Doug,
You won't be disappointed! Your best bet would be to find a buddy to share expenses and come for two days. You can get a room at the show headquarters hotel for $59.00. Why two days? It's the seminars. As always, the really big news is the seminar schedule (and the great exhibitors). The hard part will be deciding which two days. Maybe you should opt for the whole three days.
Seminars by Pete Maina, Jim Saric, Bill Sandy, Chad Cain, etc., etc. will be joined for the first time by poolside demos. Besides Joe Buchar's technique demonstration on Saturday, "Musky Hunter Magazine Day", and Thorne Bros. lure demos on Sunday morning, "Thorne Bros. Day", we have added rod and reel testing in the pool on Sunday afternoon from noon to 3:00
It's going to be a great show! Plan on one, two, or three days - you won't be disappointed!
