On friday night Jim Wilson called me and we had a very nice and interesting conversation. During this conversation Jim made it clear to me that he intends to try and make things right to people that he has very outstanding prepaid orders with. Jim told me that he would contact these people and offer them something as an apology. He gave me his phone number so if anyone feels like he did not contact them they may. I will not post his number on the internet. If someone would like it please feel free to contact me and I will give it to you provided you do not intend to use it in a malicious manner. During our conversation one thing became clear to me. Jim does not make these baits for the "business" of it. He does it because he has a passion and love for these baits almost like they were his children. I would also like to commend Jim on the fact that he has changed the way he will do business in the future to avoid situations like this. He will no longer take money up front for bait orders. He will contact the buyer when they are finished and send them C.O.D. He will also no longer provide delivery dates. If you would like to see the exact specifications please go to www.hughesrivercustombaits.com. There is also one thing I would like to clarify. In my original remarks I wrote that it seems like 100 people are having the same problem as I was. I do not know the exact number of people having this problem and I should not have tried to quantify my remarks. I am sorry if anyone was mislead by this as it was never my intention. I am excited Jim called me and told me of the steps he is taking to correct this situation. I know some people will say it is too little too late, but to me the old saying applies: Better late than never! Everyone has the right to their opinion but I always feel that people deserve a second chance. I believe Jim is sincere on making things right and I hope that if you talk to him you will give him the benefit of doubt. I think everyone involved learned a good lesson from this and I hope everyone has a great season in 2002. Thanks
