How many of you use a C4 (high speed gearing) for throwing bucktails or anything else you want to come in fast? Do you feel you get more strikes with the faster retrieve and is it a seasonal use thing?
Thanks in advance.

I use the C-4 for throwing bucktails. Last year was the first year and I really liked it. It really comes in handy when you want to burn bucktails all day long - you don't tire as much. Also, on those times when you want to go slow you can just slow down your retrieve.

I use the C-4 on my jerk bait rod, takes up the slack very quick, especially when using a suick. Never found a need for a C4 with bucktails.

I have a C4, but don't use it anymore for bucktails. Put it on a jerk-bait rod and it does well there. It also helps a lot to add a power-handle to take the stress off the hands.

Bob,

I use the C-4 for smaller bladed bucktails, that pull easy in the water also like the other said, jerk and even crankbaits.

Good luck
