Frabill ice rods

I was due for a new ice rod so I put a bug in Santas ear for this rod in a medium light. Anyone had any use with this rod and what reel balances it out OK. While I was on Santas lap I should have wished for ice--on the lake not in my stocking. Have a good holiday season to all.

Chuck, I got one last year for X-Mas and it really is a sweat little rod. Actually, it is bigget in length then my others but the feel and comfort is great. It is now my go-to rod for ice. I have a Shimano Spirex 1000RD on it. Deadly, light combo.

Hi Aquaman, glad to hear you like the rod can't wait to try it. I have several of the aero stratic reels and like them just fine I think a 1000 will work fine on that rod. Thanks for the reply lets hope for ice soon I know my wife is she wants me out of the way. I have been casting and reeling with a twister tail in the living room and driving my daughters kitty nuts--no hook of course. Maybe see you at the get together--think cold thoughts.
