I have an older (1980+) bass, what I like to call muskie boat. I know it sounds really old, and it is, but it's perfect for me. It is fiberglass. I want to paint the bottom. It has it's original bottom. Does anybody know the best and economical way of doing this? Any suggestions are welcome. Take care,

B. JAWS - The finish surface of your boat is not a conventional paint- it's a gel coat (polyester resin). Here's some info on gel coat's and repairs.

If you have to refinish/gel coat the entire hull, you're probably looking at a winter project. Also it's going to probably require that the hull be inverted (upside down). About 10-15 buddies & a 1/2 barrel of beer should do it. Of course you may want to withold the beer until they get it inverted ;-)
