Just curious about these units made by Garmin. Does anyone have one and how do they like them? Thanks all.

I have the 168 sounder and love it! Get the mapsource CD if you decide to buy it. You can spend your winter with the HotSpots map and pinpoint your coordinates on the computer and download them to your GPS. You can save tons of differnt lakes on the computer, and what I do is when I'm going to visit a new lake I download all the waypoints the night before. You can delete them off the GPS and still have them on the computer.

I bought a 176 last summer when they first came out. I was looking for somthing with a larger display that was still portable so I could still use it in my truck. The 176 is a great unit and very easy to use. If you get one I would suggest that you get the Garman Road and Rec. CD to down load better detail mapping then what comes loaded on the unit, This will require a memory card. A great sight to check out is WWW.GPSCITY.COM Good luck, it is worth the money...

Go for it. When you get it, show it to your fishing partner. I'm sure he'll want to check it out.

When you decide to buy, shop around for the best price, then call Thorne Bros. (www.thornebros.com).

I shopped my local boating stores, found a better price at Online Marine (www.onlinemarine.com), then called Thorne Bros. They beat everybody else's price and only charged actual shipping cost. Fast, friendly service.

Good luck.
