Saw a Tracker(1992) yesterday, good price, the hull was a modify Vee. Does anyone have any good or bad info on this hull for an aluminum tracker. its 17 1/2 ft.. thanks in advance for the info. peace in the east.

The vast majority of boats these days are modified- V. V in the bow, flatter in the stern. Most boats are this style because it is the best compromise of styles. Buy the boat! (i'm living vicariously through you because I want a boat)

Not sure which model you are talking about, but I had a TXS-17 many years ago. It was ok for smaller water, but add any chop at all and it was dangerous. Too narrow of a hull, I think it only had a 60" beam or so.

Are you talking about the john boat style bass boat they have always made or a v-hull style? Everybody I have known with the john boat style has had a cracked hull that needed welding. I have fish in one on the madison chain and if there are waves, you better have great balance. Very tippy boat.
