I catch many muskies at different depths, but
there is a "comfort zone" depth range I have the
most success in. I would estimate 80% of my strikes
come in water 11-14 feet deep (there could be some
shallower structure in the area, but I mean the
average depth to bottom). I know in Georgian Bay, these depths are laughable....but that seems like ocean fishing to me. If the depth of the spot is 11-14 ft. deep, I like to get my lure down at least 7-9 feet, unless I'm
burning weedbeds. I just wanted to compare notes....
I'm basically a bucktail-spinnerbait fisherman, so I'm
sure you crankbait-jerkbait guys have different ideas.
