Just a random thought to fill the time while my boat is out of the water for the season: There is a way to report GPS numbers that a lot of people (including myself) use that actually does not actually make any sense mathematically. Say you want to go fishing between Huron and Vermillion on Lake Erie and you read a post that people were catching fish at the 29/27 line. This is not a line at all, but the POINT at which two lines come together. One line, the first one tells you how far North you are and it runs East-West. The second one runs North-South and says how far West you are. Anyway, this information may not make any sense, but it sure is useful (if the fish are still biting when you get there)!

And I thought a line attached a boat to the dock. The anchor is held by a rode. Neither one is a rope.
