With wet eyes, and a lump in my throat, I say "well done, Chris and Christian" Amazing how the fish played such a small part of that "life lesson".......I think Chris has the best catch of all in that partner he has.......;-)

What a great story, reminded me of fishing with my Dad when I was just a little tyke, now I'm over 40, he's over 80 and I still take him fishing with me a few times each summer. Winters are too cold for him.
Chris you are going to have a partner for life and I admire you for being so concerned about the way he felt about losing the fish. Unfortunately alot of fathers would have been mad and made their sons feel even worse. I remember the day a few years ago when I took my brother fishing and he caught the biggest fish of his life, I flubbed the netting job and we lost her at the boat. I still feel bad about it and I can sure sympatize with your little boy. Take care and thanks again for the heartwarming story.

Good fishing and Happy Holidays

It was a nice fishing *story*. I have a hard time believing a 3 year old is capable of doing everything, including releasing the boards, as told by the Bahl man.

Great, well-written story. I could picture the whole thing, only the netman was my nephew and the fish couldn't possibly be that big if it were headed for my boat.

ya gotta have FAAAAAIIIIIITHHH!!
"Faith is believing what common sense tells you is improbable" {Forgot her name at the moment but it was in Miracle on 34th st} As to a 3 year old, I can see it. Do you have kids? Some are sharp as a whip, very perceptive, and wise beyond an adults years. Growing up is what messes kids up.

I can remember when my 12 year old was three. We would go to the lake and bluegill fish and all of a sudden he would say,"Let's go find some weeds Dad." That was the sign that he wanted to catch Bass plus, take a boat ride.

I always had a rat or scum frog on one of his poles ready for him for he loved to fish the weeds. I can tell you this, we would pull up to a weed bed and before I could put the trolling motor down he would be on the front deck and have a cast made. When he was 6 he could use a free spool reel and caught his first Small-mouth over 4lbs. Him and his sister have been known to fight over the front deck of the boat and the stories can go on and on.

He got his first deer at the age of 9 with a 410 and she has a 9lb 4oz eye on the wall.

Two great 12 year olds that love to fish and hunt and play basket ball and we don't have to worry about them. I can't ask to be blessed with more than that.
