Anyone know offhand where I can send a Pinpoint for repair, preferably near Chicago? Anywhere with a decent turnaround time, however, would be the first priority. Thanks. Mark

Mark,
I don't know what is wrong with your motor, but did you get a chance to see the thread started by Gman about getting everyone together who has had problems with their Pinpoints? He didn't say, but it almost sounded like a class action type of thing. If you are interested, and can't find it, I could dig it up for you.

Mark....as with my motorguide lazer,we should tie a anchor around both and drop them over the side...or you can get it fixed again....call John at AnchorsA, Weigh for good turn around,262-5477170...I agree with Jim, there should be a class action suit against motorguide/pinpoint for putting junk out

BFC, I had some trouble with my motor and took it to Motor Clinic in Bloomington, MN. They told me it would be 4 weeks before they looked at it. The guy said he had something like 200 motors in the back. There is a place in CA called the Trolling Motor Doctor who said he could do it in almost no time. When I talked to him he had 2 in his shop. Mine went out today. I have to pay $40 for shipping one way, but it is worth it to me. His number is 562.988.9444

I wish I could remember the name and number of the place. I think (but am not positive) that it is called Elston Marine. It is on Elston St in Chicago, and is just south of Addison street and they repair trolling motors there. A friend of mine recently got his motor fixed there a few months ago. Sorry I cant be of much more help. I just used the Yahoo search engine to try and get a # for you but it came up empty.
