I am going to be staying on Girl lake for a week starting this Saturday. I have never been there before but I am told there are huge Muskies in Woman. Any suggestions, tips, info someone is willing to share? Someone told me to take a side trip to Baby lake. Is that a good Ski lake? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks, Joe

I have fished the Woman lake chain a few times with little success, however I have not really given it a good effort lately. My parents live on Woman and I can tell you what I know.

Due to the heavy infestation of Rusty Crawfish, the main body of Woman lake is virtually void of all weed cover, however there is an endless supply of strucure covered with rocks and sand. The few times I have tried to find muskies in Woman lake have resulted in two nice walleyes. A 29.5" caught on a bucktail on a bright sunny day around noon on a rock bar, and a 27" caught trolling for suspended fish in 50 feet of water.

Broadwater Bay, and the large channel leading to it still has good weed growth, as does Child and Girl Lakes which have not been infested with the Crawfish like Woman has...

I occasionally hear of a big musky being caught in Woman, but unfortunately it is usually by a walleye angler at one of the MANY resorts on the lake, and it does not get released.

I do not believe the DNR stocks the Woman Lake chain with musky, so the few that are there are natural reproducing.

Woman is definitely worth a try, however I do not think it is a good numbers lake, but if you hook into one it will be big fish.

If you are looking for numbers head over to Baby lake, it is a short drive down the road. And there is also Wabedo, Little Boy, Inguadonna, and Leech all within aout 15-20 miles.....

Good luck,
