got my two finickys and have been doing some "dry runs" in the living room to get the bugs worked out ahead of time. Everyone is right that the release off the plastic tube seems to be a bad situation. Using thoise small line marker bobbers make for a bad release, especially if the jig motor stops the arm in the upper position. you can actually tug on it and it won't come free. it will actually drag the arm down to a lower position before it lets the bobber go. Ive heard of people saying to switch to a rubbe rband for some type of release. might have some merit.possibly still use a small bobber to mark your position, but place it below the plastic tube and put a small loop of line under the rubber band? does anyone have any more feedback or solutions to this problem? walleyes wouldn't seem to like the current "hard" release. one other simple comment. for the money, you would think they could add a second small black switch to turn the light on/off, instead of having to reach up under and push/pull the light wire off/onn the terminal. also seems funny that the light is only able to be used in the two jigging modes, not the mode where the jigging is turned off. is it not possible people would fish at night but not use the jigging? fish do change and sometimes the "no jig" approach works better. there will be times when the beaver dams will outfish the finickys and there jigging. anyone with further comments on these units would be appreciated. thanks.

HUH? Maybe the mud valve is stuck.

The FFF is a cool ice tool and once you catch on to a few adjustments it is very versatile and dependable. I did very well with mine last season from everything from perch to muskie.

I replaced the trigger tube with a Off Shore planer board release. You may adjust the release tension to the bait size and weight easier with a planer board release. Other then that I would recommend you load the spool with 30# Teflon coated tip-up line, it will work much better then with mono or Fireline.

For perch or crappie add a cross lock snap swivel to the Teflon if you wish to use a fluorocarbon leader or mono and your all set for light biting fish. A tiny O-ring on the end of the jigging rod can be used as the trigger for the perch and crappie. Just tuck the line under the O-ring and when the perch pops it will fall free from the jigging arm.

Happy Holidays & Good fishing.
