Lacquer vs. Gloss coat

What is the difference between clear lacquer and gloss coat in spray paint cans? I know the lacquer is about 50 cents more a can, but which is better for a lure’s finish? This is for a plastic lure, I don’t need/want the thick envirotex shell. I’m just looking for shine.

Clear lacquer is exactly that, a clear paint that you lay on top of whatever you want to protect. Gloss coat is paint that is shiny.
