This would only pertain to smaller fish which I know we all hate to admit that we catch :) I was wondering if anyone has ever used a glove for landing the smaller fish, especially for pike? I have seen gloves that have a patch of velcro on them that sticks to your waist area so you can quickly slip it on while fighting a fish and then can land it. I believe it is supposed to provide grip and also protect your hand from fins and gill plates. I am wondering how well they work and how well you think they would stop a hook from coming thru?

I have the Lindy gloves and a pair of old garden gloves. Both work fine. Never have had a hook puncture thru on either. Lindy glove offers better grip.

I've been using a pair of neoprene gloves for the last couple of years these haved worked well not only providing protection for myself but also they don't soak-up i.e. remove the fishes slimecoat if you hold them for a photo. I just purchased the new Lindy fishing glove they seem like they will do the job although they are extremly stiff but then again they haven't been broken in yet. Also my fishing partner swears by a pair of mechanix gloves.

David, you Lindy gloves, throw them in the washing machine a couple times.
They will loosen up.Helps prevent cuts from the rackers.
