I need some advice on the sluggo. Such as best rigging and the correct application for using this lure. What are some tips anyone can give me on some good ways to work this thing? Cast-n-blast

I have done best with the large Sluggo's fished like a plastic worm for bass with no weight in very shallow water. If you rig with the hook that comes with them, run the hook through the tip of the nose of the bait, as you would Texas rig a worm, then bring the hook back up through the little dimple on the side of the bait. If you rig the hook all the way through the bait, there will be so little hook exposed that your hook up rate will be poor at best. Leave as much hook exposed as you can. Let the fish tell you how to work the bait. I have done best with a slow twitch and drop retrieve to look like a baitfish that is just about to die (an easy meal).
I prefer to throw wood but if the fish are neutral, very shallow or spooky, the Sluggo is an excellent choice. Set the hook like you plan to launch the fish out of the water and you will boat more of your strikes.
