Maverick posted this on the reports board, so I thought I'd assist and post hear as well to get a wider audienece.
I too am very much interested in this: There is mentiona a 60 incher was caught and released at the Bayview lodge web site...
I am wondering if anyone can confirm or deny the report of a 60" Muskie being caught and released on Vermillion in the last 2 weeks? My buddy emailed me about our up coming trip to vermillion and informed me that on the lake vermillion website, someone out of bayview lodge had boated and released the monster.

Heard it.
NO picture.
Not much said really around the lake.
One story goes that the guy was walleye fishing and caught a 60?
Released it?
Simple.
No witness, no photo.
Another story is the guy walleye fishing caught a BIG Musky and the Fishwrap in Duluth got the lenght of the fish and the spelling of his name worng?
LOL
No photo.
Water is cold, fish are in the warmest water, but not very agressive.
We been working hard and coming up with little, but finding NEW areas of weeds and having fun.
West ender's report more activity, but these are mostly from Bass guys and Walleye guy getting into the rare fish.
One young man on the west end did catch a beauty!
Way to go kid!
I want to hire HIM!
:)
Next few weeks should really turn on.
Off to the lake.

Nobody I know on the lake has seen a photo nor did anyone hear about it until it was in the paper. Another good point made by someone was the guy was a walleye fisherman, how many walleye fishermen have a 60" ruler in their boat? Until there is a reliable photo, it is just the first big muskie story of the year and as always there will be more.

Maybe the 60 was actually a 50, but still a big fish.
I almost had a 60 incher last week. Had two 30 inchers follow my bait in the same cast right behind each other.:)
Good fishing all.

The word is that a photo is soon to be released.....That was the word from the owner of Bay View lodge.
I find it hard to beleive that a 60"er
could be taken on a walleye rod. :)
