interesting.........if some of the people i run into on mille lacs are honest there will be a lot of votes for the fishing to get tanked response
lol- anyway i dont really care- i never caught any fish till i put the cork in the bottle-I happen to be a friend of bill w's and there sure is a lot of us out there too God bless everyone and have a great christmas
I get buzzed on diet dew. That other stuff is bad news in the boat or in the car. Wait till you can get to your bed without driving.

I am also a friend of BW's, and my fishing success has dramatically changed for the good, as well as life in general since we have become friends.
God Bless, keep it simple, & Happy Holidays to all.

The rule on my boat is "No beer untill you catch a keeper" However "Keeper" is still undefined. You must allways have a loop hole with rules.:+
I feel a cold beer or two never hurts, just as long as it's not abused. Fish on!!

Works for me if the keepers are not biting.......

i don't think that having a couple of beers or whatever your flavor may be as long as you use your head, be responsible, and know your limits.

Bill W = Bill Wilson (?), the founder of AA. My friend for 13 years.
I drink gator aid, squirt and hot chocolate while fishing.

Howdy,
I for one never liked drinkin in the boat. I cannot also drink beer when I am very hot or very thirsty. Just not pleasing to me.
However, if a guy wants to drink responsibly, have a beer or two and not impare themselves, I see no problem with it. Laws are there for a reason, it is up to all of us to abide. Be safe.
The problem lies in who thinks what is impared. I have seen the results of a boater who thought he was allright to drive. I watched a 26 foot cabin cruiser climb a breakwall at nearly full speed, by a guy that "Knew where he was going, and musta just got mixed up."
Tea Toddling (Iced tea) is fine for me when in the boat, and a casual drink or two once the day is done and we are sittin on the porch relaxing. But that is me, and my direction.
Have fun.......R

I like to have a few canadian beers while I'm out on a nice day. Although I guess that's worth about five or six american beers. ;-)

I guess that drinking and fishing/boating is like everything else that goes with drinking, if done in moderation it's probably alright. I never could, I've also been a friend of BW for 17 years now, can't say enough good things about it. I have nothing against booze, it's just poison to me. Good fishing to all, hard water is just around the corner.
With every trip I go out, I hope the fishing is good enough that I don't have time for a beer. However, on those slower days, I do have a couple, but don't overdue it. If I have a tap on the line, I want to make sure I get that fish!

He's not kidding about this rule! So the only thing I could do was to buy his boat!

You're right, not everybody should drink, even thought they want to. It effects different people in different ways. I'm happy that it's not a big issue to me, I don't drink that much, but I can enjoy it in a responsible manner.

The only time I ever really drink while out fishing is on our yearly trip to Canada. Even then it's only 2 beers or so starting in the afternoon. On cold, chilly days the last thing I want is a cold beer. A thermosful of coffee is what I really need!
