I prefer Muskie Central with Musky Hunter really close behind. I also visit Musky First and the Muskies, Inc. forums. We all owe a lot to Muskies, Inc. However, there are not a whole lot of posts on there for some reason. I also visit Musky First quite often. However, there seems to be some individuals monopolizing the board. In addition, there seem to be different standards (posts pulled or allowed)at times applied to the board depending on who the individual is posting.

i think muskiefirst is the most informative and civilized... i visit them all though... each one has a lot of good people and information... muskie central is a little more(what's the right word?) controversial(i guess...) at times... there is usual some kind of drama happening here... but i guess that is fun too...

Tough question! For me as far as #1 web site, it's a toss up between Muskie Central and MuskieFirst. They both have their own pro's and con's. I like both, for entirely different reasons. They are both terrific sites with a lot of information exchange. I've learned more about Muskie fishing from these two web sites than any of the published materials out there, with one exception, i.e., Dick Pearson's book "Muskies on the Shield". It's a must read for any serious Muskie fisherman w/ a open mind. That's not to say that other publications, i.e., Musky Hunter, Esox Angler and Muskies Inc + numerous other books and web sites sites don't add value, each does in it's own way. Anyone who says they don't is just plain blinded by stupidity.
Talk about tough crowd's- Muskie anglers are probably the toughest of the lot, i.e., take no prisoner's & outspoken,with very deep ingrained opinions. Many are unwilling to share anything. I am eternally grateful to those who do, both here and at MuskieFirst + other sites + all the great folks who write articles & books for publication.
You have to ask yourself. What's the believability factor? Let's take an example: I caught my first + 50" w/o benifit of any of this information. Needless to say I lucked out! Now the quest is to better it (next WR). With help from everyone, I think that's entirely possible, especially if I can maintain my health and stamina.
My son (Billy) put it into perspective while we were up on Grindstone last Saturday @ about 10:00PM at nite. We were fishing the west side shallows between the big island and Williams bay. Casting at shore/docks, etc. You know the little contest we had going + the conversations. I finally told him I'd personally seen two WR class Muskies in Canada and that his little sister had seen one of them. He though for a moment and said; " Dad, how long do Muskies live?" Answer-> Best guess so far is about 30 years is max. "#####, that means that there's probably one world record class Muskie dying every year somewhere because of natural causes, just like there's probably one WR class buck or WR walleye or any other WR dying without ever being seen by a human." I said - yup, and all it takes is one good cast in the right spot!
After we were done- we stopped at the Mocassin Bar to see Cal Johnson's fish. Yup- I believe both Canadian fish were bigger. One by a good margin. When a fish is at the surface there's not much distortion from the water, i.e, something most scuba divers learn very quickly. If they'd both been at any depth, say + 2 feet, I would question my own judgement of their size. But they came to the surface right beside the boat, chasing little bitty smallmouth bass baits (less than 2" long).
If you'd have seen the first one you would be obsessed too! I will fish that lake every year until I die- unfortunately I can't fish it everyday when the season is open, but I'm working on it.
So what's the point? It's that the best website is the one you believe is best. Someone else's opinion of what they believe should actually mean squat. Is my little story true? You bet it is , I just hope both girls survived last winter.

I love everyone!!!! My favorite board used to be the "2x4", a primitive educational tool most often used to persuade others...now I use those very boards to build houses of love + tranquility! I also have a herd of Dali Lamas + invite everyone to my new grand opening of yet another 7-11....save a potato, eat rice{:}

I would have to say MuskieFirst. I used to be a regular here on at MC posting 3 or 4 times a day. MuskieFirst has its problems too but you don't see as much fighting over there and there is an active chatroom. If I say anything to make MuskieCentral its to get the chat going! Then people will start to get to know each other and everything will probaly be more civilized. I would hope MC grows in the next few months and becomes an awesome site. It already is but if we get the chat goin and stuff it would be lots better.

Definitly Musky Hunter. This site likes to stand behind the so called "Pros" weather they are on the level or not.

I like any website that lets me slander the green bay packers
The last post must be from a fan of one of the other loser teams in the Division that can't win, unlike the great PACKERS!

Tied between Muskiesfirst and Muskiecentral. Pretty much the same people posting on both. I've learned more about catching fish from Muskiecentral but find more in Muskiesfirst's swapboard and fishing reports.
P.K.
Looks like it's back into the loch with you nessy
