View Full Version : Rules on different discussion boards are getting crazy?

I sometimes feel like I am walking in a mine field when I post a message on a Muskie board. You never know if your going to get attacked, helped, praise, shot or removed! Don't you?

Case in point, I posted an event on one site and it was moved to the event section. Fair enough. But events, to me benefit all people. And different sections don't receive as many viewers as the generally board. It is a disservice to people who may be interested in such an event. All of the other muskie boards allow posting of an event in the general area.

Another site, removed the same posting that had links to camp ground sites. The reason, based on their policy had to do with advertising (not allowing links to other sites). Even though I felt I wasn't advertising anything, just saying thats were a majority of people for this event were staying. The link was to help people who wanted to go.

A third site removed the whole post. No reason given, but did ask for me to repost.

Everyone has the right to make their own rules. All I am saying is aren't we getting a little to ridiculous? Can't we be reasonable?

What was the post about? An event for a non profit organization...have you heard of Muskies Inc.? What happen to the support for Muskies Inc. and it's chapters events?

I hope in the future we can all get a little flexible in the way we manage sites and support a non profit organization.

Nathan: It seems that rules differ on some of the boards and are somewhat inconsistant as to what is allowed. I've noticed on this board that recently they are doing a good job of attempting to stop bashing and personal attacks on people. After all, it is a fun thing. Some people take things a little too seriously. I've seen (as we all have) things go a little to far on some of them.

Nathan,

I still am at a loss for the private message you sent me. Did you get my reply? I have done nothing to the post you put up, and if it is different than the way you posted it, you better let me know because that means someone else is editing posts on this board. What's up?

I posted here before Jim about the vermillion event and it disappeared. Then I read your policy and figured cause it was linked to other sites (camp grounds to stay at) it was removed. I reposted a new revised one on this site without the links and its up.

My post here is more about the different rules and competiton. We talked about this before.

You see when you post on all sites, it's hard to keep track of what you can and cannot do. I just wish we didn't worry so much about petty things.

Nathan,

Unless Adman deleted it, I did not touch it. He is here very infrequently, so I doubt very much it was him. I have no problem with your post, as it is a Muskies Inc. event.

Ok. Thanks Jim. I try to follow all the rules. Just so many. Frustrating when you represent a non profit organization and some sites (not all) treat you like a competitor.

MC is in good standings with me.

Nathan,we had a Muskies Canada event in Gananoque and the Odessey event posted back in april/may.
They even locked it up for us so everyone could see.
Got to say,MC supports non lucrative organizations like Muskies Inc and Muskies Canada.
Muskie Central is a sponsor and supporter of the Montreal chapter of Muskies Canada.

Must be a honest mistake
take care

Thanks Marc. I know people have to make thier money. Would just like to see Muskies Inc. be the exception. As we all know organization like Muskies Inc. does a lot for the sport we love. Lets give back by showing our support for their chapters and events.
