White Bear has been pretty lousy this year, at least for me and some of the other guys I know. In June the water was ultra clear and fish were follwing all over the place, but not many eaters. In July between all the rain and the really hot weather the wtere got really dirty and the fish seemed to disappear. I've done better on just about any of the other lakes nearby.

It' also a total zoo out there in the summer. Looking forward to October and November.

Almost any bait will produce, but when the water is clear either a speen bait like a bucktail, or a natural crankbait like a perch pattern baby depth raider seems to work best for me. Later in the year trollong 10" Jakes can produce some big fish. The lake has a lot of mid-lake structures that seem to produce best, but there are fish almost everywhere. If you start to get follows change your retrive to try to trigger them sooner - the clear water makes these fish real hard to trigger at boatside.
