Hey guys. I was thinking about joining the Downriver Walleye Federation. I would appreciate any of my WC buddies who are members in the club to drop me an email (or a post if you would rather) and tell me a bit about the club. I got a newsletter from Andy's Tackle Box and it looked pretty interesting. I also visited the website and it looks like the tourneys are a good time.

perchjerker, the DWF is a non-profit walleye club with interests in whats going on in the area that impacts the fishery. we have monthly meetings. a member base of over 200. and share info on what and where the fish are being caught. several members fish the pwt, rcl and mwt tournaments. our own tournaments are real competative with low entry fees and fish frys after. they are meant for fun. and alot more. stop in and see for your self at our meeting in january as my guest.

Perchjerker, I've been invited to speak at Walleye clubs all over the country. I've been up and did seminars at DWF and they are, In my opinion the finest club I've been to. All of the members are top notch sportsman in every way. I'm looking forward to going up to Trenton and spending time with them soon. You can't go wrong by becoming a member. Each of the member's are a wealth of information and are willing to share it with you. Good luck and join them. I'll see you at a meeting. Rick LaCourse

I fully agree Rick...I was fortunate to be asked down to speak and ya better bring your lunch cause these guys know fishing...Great group and many are active in the club which is key to a good organization. They have a very comfortable place to meet and fill the place up. I'm sure you will have a great many more fishing buddies after you join. I am proud to be a new member as well. Mark Sak

Perchjerker, I'm in the same boat as you regarding interest in the DWF. I don't live particularly close to Downriver, but fish the area enough that it might be worth my while to join.

If anyone is e-mailing Perchjerker info, I'd appreciate it if you would copy me, too, at:

Funny you should add that today. I just sent in my membership application this morning. :-)

Also happened to see someone at Cabelas this afternoon wearing a DWF hat.

Sounds good. Im think about making a t shirt that says "Im perchjerker" for the meeting so you guys know its me. (just kidding!)(well, maybe not!) At the get together, there were no name tags so I didnt know who was who (I am terrible with names!)
