After a cold front has moved in and you get a sunny but cold day where do you find fish?
In this situation I typically look for a sunny, shallow rock or sand bar that they are up on warming themselves.
What are your experiences?
Steve
Weeds, or any other heavy cover. Im quite the amateur when it comes to muskie(first year at it, only caught 4 so far), but it seems lots of stuff carries over from bassing. Post cold front on a sunny or partly cloudy day, the fish tend to head for cover. They are still feeding, just not blatently so. Post cold front on an overcast type situation, they seem to be much more active and on the prowl. In either case, id say the fish are still very catchable, especially if you toss a new moon into the mix!
We are in the middle of a cold front here in Michigan, but the sun was out in full force today. We CPR'd a 30" and a 42" and missed a follow on a 25-30" tonight(40F), all out of heavy weeds in 8-15fow.

Hey Steve,
Why don't we discuss this in depth at a metro lake in the near future. I'm hoping we can start the fall muskie hunting events (PIGrama)again as it starts to get colder. I really want the trophy. One of our favorite metro haunts has been kind to me lately with a 36, 43, and 48" er. Give me a call at 320-252-6682 or leave your number on email for me at muskiehunter@warpdriveonline.com. I lost your number. Thanks for setting up the speaker for the next meeting.
