The way all large fish catches lately seem to be picked apart, what steps would you take to try to satisfy all the non believers if you caught a truly giant fish. Both a released fish and a kept fish.

Probably the only way to accomplish this is to keep it to yourself.

Just keep in mind that many of the people who attack large fish reports are just jealous. If you really want to be able to prove it, just take a picture of the fish laying in the water next to a measuring stick and then a picture of the girth measurement. Also make sure to take several pictures from different angles to show that its not a mounted fish.
What makes people more critical are cases like the hoax last year in Green Bay where some guy claimed he caught a 60 inch Muskie with a 30 inch girth. That was an obvious computer generated fake and it didn't stand up to any questioning at all. Muskie Hunter magazine wrote it off as a non-story and justly so.
But, in the end, what difference does it make what others say? You know what you caught and that's all that really matters.
Good fishing.
