do you think line color makes a difference ?

what about golden stren, clear-blue, trilene green, and the other colors ?

or is everyone using clear line ?

Rebs,

Try the superbraids instead the wimpy mono lines. Otherwise go back to the walleye board ;-). The line question has been asked many times over, please do a search on the subject.

are you that closed minded that you think all there is is super braid ?
mono certainly has its place in fishing

I have been using exclusively superbraids and have about the same "luck" with white, black and white, green and grey lines. I haven't noticed that color has made a difference with these. I favor the superlines over mono because I don't like the mono stretch, bite off factor and relative weaker strength/diameter which could actually injure a fish that breaks away with one of your nasty lures stuck in its mouth. What about boat hull colors????????

Rebs,

Mono does have it's place in fishing. I use it when I am fishing for bass, walleye, or panfish. When I am going to try for Muskie's I use the superbraids. I trust the strength of 80 lbs Tuff line more than 50 lbs mono. Plus I can get more of the superbraids on my reels than I can Mono. I also feel that I get a tighter knot with the superbraids than I do with mono. With the cost of lures for muskie fishing now, it makes sense to use something that isn't going to weather like mono will with exposure to the elements. I use white & black tuff line, and green power pro. For my mono rods I prefer to get clear mono, or photochromatic. I hate to say it, but the "what line does everyone use" question comes up about once a month, is busy for a week, dies, and then someone else asks instead of looking at the older posts. For Muskie fishing most people use Tuff line, Power Pro, Whiplash, or Cortland based on their experiences. All of these are great options, and all have their pluses, and all have their minuses. The biggest plus of them all to me is the fact that they do not become weathered and brittle sitting in the sun constantly, like mono does. So as far as mono for muskies, I am that close minded.
