Heading to Kinkaid for our first ever spring muskie trip in late March. Anyone have suggestions on lures to bring? colors...what depth and structure we will be fishing. ALL TIMBER or will trolling come into play?
Thanks!

Once, I spent a day on Kinkaid with Chad Cain (Musky guide). Believers work great in the standing timber (timber is mostly in the bays). They almost-never get snagged on the trees.
Lots of points & weedbeds to fish in addition to the bays, so it's not a timber-pattern-only place. Look for weedbeds (coontail) near points near the dam and marina.
Rattle traps & bass spinnerbaits are good baits there in spring.
We trolled the shoreline adjacent to the tallest sandstone rock formations by the main basin. (sorry, I don't have my map handy to be more specific). We tried trolling near the end of the day because we weren't moving any fish in any of the bays.
Good luck.
