As a college senior, my final spring break is approaching. Rather than waste it in Cancun or Daytona Beach, I wanted to do something a little more unique--namely, muskie fish. The only problem is my favorite lakes in Ontario and Minnesota have a tendency to be frozen that time of year (first week in March). That leaves only the "southern" muskie lakes that I have read about in Musky Hunter, Muskie, Inc., etc--Shelbyville, Webster, Cave Run, and the like. I was wondering if anyone who lives near those lakes (or others that are unfrozen and legal to fish during March) would be willing to share a boat with me for a day or two during the week of the 1st through the 8th of March. Being a poor college kid, I can neither afford to rent a boat or hire a guide, but I do have a pretty good stash of rods, reels, tackle, equipment, etc. I would be coming from Minnesota and would like to hit a variety of different lakes, if at all possible. If you (or someone you know) would be willing to spend a day on the lake in exchange for a meal and a beer or two afterwards, I would be forever greatful. My e-mail is below, and I will be checking this board for responses as well. Thanks again!
