I need some help deciding which rod to buy a GL Loomis GLX SJR 722 or SJR 782? I will be using this rod for jigging and occasionaly using bottom bouncers, any help will be greatly apreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have used both and both are basically the same rod, except that one is 6 inches longer than the other.

The 6 foot 722 is a bit better balanced than the 782 - simply because of the added length of the 782.

Both are very nice rods, and very sensitive.

If I am doing mostly near verticle jigging, I really prefer the feel and sensitivity of the shorter 722.

If I am doing a bit of long distance casting, and would like to reach out a bit further then I would go with the longer rod.

If you should have to use one of these rods for either bobber fishing or lindy rigging -- both a bit on the stiff side for this job, I would go with the 782.

In general, the 782 is a more all round rod.

For pure sensitivity, I think that the 722 has a slight edge.

Take care
