Do Loons migrate? I figure they donít spend their winters up north because they cant feed through the ice, and I also see them on a lake near me for a few weeks only every spring, but Iíve never noticed a flock of loons flying overhead. Anybody have any info on this? Do they take a cab?

I migrate by hitchiking to Chandler Arizona. Others in the Loon clan take the Amtrak.

Yes loons migrate. Most from here head to the Gulf of Mexico. I've never seen them flying south but have seen really big flocks on the lake. They must migrate under cover of darkness like alot of their avian brothers. :-)

They also winter on the Atlantic coast, as far north as Maine.
