I'm interested in the Cannon Rover Board . What do you think?

im by no means an aoutority on this but it really depneds on how your going to use your boards. big boards run off from mast can support many lines. ( maybe 4 to a side) and are very easy to use... but if your only going to be running two per side I say try using the offshore inline boards. they take some pratice but the returns are great.. good luck in your search

I agree with hawgtide, I think you will find the majority of people on WC like the offshore boards. I have 4, been running them for a while now.

Buy the off shore boards, put Mr. Walleye clips on them, install the tattle tail flag system with a C-73 spring and sit back and enjoy. flag down fish on.

I have run both boards in just about all conditions and even though the Canon has some good traits, I have found the Offshore board to be the most versatile.

Add the cam clips and the tattle flag system and you are set.

If you who haven't run a tattle flag before, let me tell you this is a tool that you shouldn't be without. Detecting light biting "eyes", fouled baits, and small fish are key benefits that offshore bds and tattle flags bring to the plate. No matter how good you are, before the flags (BF) we've all had a small fish on a board and not been able to detect it by how the board was running. No more, no "dead" lines after the flag (AF) which means... more fish!

Best of luck in your purchases.

Eric, I run 6 offshore planer boards. Last year I bought the flags and before putting them on I figured the weight of say a no.8 Shad Rap would pull the flags down without a fish. So I brought them back. Did Imake a mistake??

You want to put the C-73 spring on your boards in place of the one that comes with the tattle tail system/.

Thanks to the guys on this board last year for this suggestion. The C-73 spring works great. This spring is from the company Century. They have a web page, but I don't remember it at the moment. I think that Tru Value hardware stores, and some Farm & Fleet stores carry them.
I would also put my vote in for Gary Roach's Mr. Walleye Board by Church Tackle. I like the line clip and pin system better. You can also attach the Offshore tattle flag kit to these boards - works very well. It really is surprising to see how many time the tattle flag goes down, but no hookup. When I see this happen, we free spool some more line out to try to get the fish to hit again.

I agree with ERIC. Especially on the cam clips. Just a great idea, easy to work with if the water is calm or choppy. Hutch

The OR-18 is also called the "Snapper Release" it is the answer to superlines on boards and can be used with mono as well. It is now available at almost all the bigger stores and tackle shops that carry any Off Shore Products.

Joe,

There are some adjustments you can make so the Tattle Flags will work for any bait.
The first is to simply move the upper hooked portion of the spring from the flag (the factory setting sitting in th hole) and loop that end over the arm of the flag. Then on the springs lower side I added a notch to increase tension. This movement of the spring gives the spring more tension and leverage and allows larger baits to be used. I have even been able to run Reef Runners with this setting and the factory springs.
It really is simple and as wave condtions dictate, you can fine tune the whole setup for even the lightest of bites.

Good luck, and take some time to play with them a bit. They truley are an invaluable tool!

I agree with the rest of the posts but I have found when pulling boards in rough water or large deep diving plugs I make a small adjustment. I take a rubberband, loop it over the flag till it hits the screw then stretch it around the front of the board and hook it over the arm that the clip is attached to. This will work with large t-sticks and reef runners. If the lake lays down or you switch to a smaller plug it is a quick fix, Just take the band off and you are back fishing.

Can someone get me these c-73 springs? I haven't seen them in any store in NJ. I would very much appreciate it. A dozen would do me fine. Thanks to all who answer. JJ
