Are there any 'un-advertised' differences between these 2 units other than the cold-cathode backlight? I'm trying to decide which to buy and I'd like to collect as much info as possible.

The 2400 has 3000 watts of power the x75 has on 600. In shallow water it doesn't make much difference but in deep water it certainly does. If you fish water deeper than 50 feet go with the 2400.

Actually, the 2400 is advertised as having 600 watts (same as the x75)

They both have 600 watts of power. The backlight of the X-75 is well worth the extra money if you buy that one. The 2400 is a special run for Cabelas, and is sold with the hopes of the high volumn, cheaper priced unit. Good luck fishing with what ever one you go with... :)
