I'm looking for a one line board just for me . Would you still go with the offshore board? Do they work well when you are backtrolling ? Will I need a line tied to it or will it snap on the mono?

Yes, the offshore board is the one to go with, it connects to your line, no tow line. You need a fairly stout rod as it pulls a bit. I dont see why it wouldnt work for backtrolling.

Two suggestions, its impossible to go wrong with OffShore boards. I would suggest tattle tails and second troll them with your boat going forward.
