One of my learned Musky huntin' friends who owns a bait shop, mentioned this lake the other day, (I hope I spelled the name right). Since then one other friend gave me a glowing report of this lake and remarked that unlike some other Musky lakes, this one holds some real trophy Muskies..fact or fantasy? I know ALL lakes in that area hold some Muskies but most have an overabundance of "snakes"...fun to catch but not to photograph.Anyone out there actually fished this lake? We're familiar with the more popular lakes in that area but never fished this one...whaddya' know?

Wish I had more current info, but I last fished that lake in 1952 and only caught small muskies. By now they should be good size!

Hawg Tracker,
I have fished Big Sissabagama 4 or 5 times the last two seasons.
Only caught one fish there. It was a nice looking 46" fish. Caught in July this year on a cold rainy day. It was the only fish I saw after 6 hours on the lake.
I like the lake for it's islands, rock bars and nice cabbage beds. It really looks like a "Musky" lake. I haven't fished it enough to say I know the lake. I don't recall anyone really calling it a "Trophy" lake. I think it gets a fair amount of pressure from what I've seen. Best on week days.
It's worth a look, just be careful around the buoys! ROCKS

Thanks...I am good at finding rocks...that's why I ahve a stainless prop on my 70 horse
Hawg Tracker,
Big Siss is one of my favorite lakes to fish, especially in the fall. Biggest fish for me there so far is a fat 43" that got me the Big Musky award several years ago at the MH Fall School. But I have seen bigger fish there. Lots of good structure, and nice weeds. It's a good Reef Hawg lake for me. Didn't get on it this year, but I have heard it is getting more pressure than in past years.

My wife's family stayed at a resort on that lake for many years called Pine Ridge until it was no more. I went on several of those trips in the late 80's and had a great time on that lake. The largest fish we boated was mid 40's but we did get into several that were bigger. The rocks to the north of the island are not exactly where they are indicated on the map and they are motor eaters. The weeds at the south end were starting to get very bad due to the drain off of water full of fertilizer from the nearby cranberry farm.
