Help me out guys!!I was down fishing Lake Kinkade this fall when there was a tournament going on.We watched as a boat that said Troll Daddy ? was reeling in a nice fish.As we pulled up to them we asked what they caught it on.They snickered and said a new prototype lure thats not out yet.We probed harder and they relutently said it was a jointed S S Shad and tossed it out for us to see.GOTTA GET ONE!!I cant remember who they said made it.HELP. I know that smokertackle.com makes the ss shad. I was unaware that a jointed version was forthcoming but give it a try.

Smoker Tackle is now making jointed SS Shads. They are 7"+ and run very shallow when casting and a little deeper when trolling. I have caught 2 this fall on them and had a buddy lose a fish on one. Muskies sure like them, just like the like the original SS Shads.

The Scud is a neat bait, but it looks nothing like the jointed S S Shad. The Jointed S S Shad is a crank bait with a lip and is about 1 inch thick 7 1/2 long and is shaped like a shad or panfish.Happy Holidays Dan

I have not seen the jointed version, but I saw the straight model on their site. It sure looks similar to me like a lure made by Big Chimney Baits that is being sold by Danny Wade (Ohio guide)for $12.50. Here's the url: http://users.clover.net/muskyman/page3.html
As Buck Perry said: "Lures are only tools". $18 for a shad bait seems a bit stiff to me. tom

I agree that lures are only tools. And muskies love those tools called SS Shads, both the original and jointed. I wouldn't go muskie fishing without several.
Wow those SS are a bit pricey!
