Hey Muskie Man

I just got the Humminbird Matrix 65 system with GPS. I have not heard anything on it and have not had a chance to use it. You are suppose to see 2 ½" Target Separation on the display.DualBeam PLUS sonar system with a wide 60 degree area of coverage. DualBeam PLUS is optimized to show the greatest bottom and structure definition using a narrow 20 degree beam, and show fish and structure from a wide 60 degree beam. Sonar from both beams is combined into one image on the display. It also have a WeatherSense internal battery and smart monitoring system which always logs the last 12 hours of the barometric pressure, so you'll start the day with an accurate, up-to-date trend information. The unit comes equipped with the Humminbird UniMap which details the entire US coastal waterways and inland lakes and rivers to 4 Nautical Mile (nm). With the UniMap, you'll have a detailed map showing detailed land and water outlines available virtually everywhere you go. I hope this system is as good as it sounds. It is a more expensive the $200 but you get more.
I did use a Meridian GPS last year. It didn't have any map info in it, but it really help me the one time I went out night fishing. I was able to back track the path I took out.

I havn't used the Pro version but I have used the original. It is an excellent unit for the money. The next comparable units that I have used are the Garmin etrex's. The garmins are nice because they are waterproof, and have a nicer screen layout. The i-finder is nice for overall amount of features and the ability to plug in the map cards. If there were fishing hot spots maps available for the lowrance right now, I'd say it would be no contest, but Garmin still has more map options.

I do not have one but used one on a trip to Arkansas. I went with a friend who works at Lowrance. I like the unit alot and will probably get one soon.
I like it because it is user friendly, if you ever had a Lowrance/Eagle product they pretty much have the same buttons. My new boat has Garmins on it and I will have to learn how to use the new units.
Another great feature is the memory cards that you can buy for your lakes. It has great detail and it covers much more of Canadian roads and waters.
