Has any one used the new FL-18? Is it really better than the FL-8SLT? I am in the market for a new bow finder to replace my x-85 and am down to Zercom LPG 2000 or upgrading my FL8-SLT.The FL-18 kills two birds with one stone as I can use it for ice fihing also.May be hard to go back to a flasher on the bow after beeing able to see history from a graph.

thanks for any input,

RR

Tried my new FL-18 yesterday for the first time. Worked great, however it's my first flasher so I have nothing to compare it to. The display certainly was bright and clear as advertised. I really appreciated the zoom feature.

Used the FL-18 this week end on LOW and was able to see the fish on the bottom before the other guyes in house with FL-8's were able to.

The FL-18 is great but it needs a 0-40 scale. I'd buy one!!

After using the new FL-18 my Zercom is now my new boat anchor. Great products from those guys at Vexilar :)

I used the FL-18 on Devils Lake most of the summer and so far this winter for perch. It's GREAT!!! Definately worth the extra $80.00 over the FL-8. The bottom lock is awesome in the summer and the auto zoom in the winter. The unit by far exceeds the FL-8 in target separation. You won't be disappointed.

I wish I knew someone at Vexilar so I could get a deal on a new FL-18.That way we could have a fish fry next Friday instead of a steak fry!!!

The target separation information is the kind of comparisons that I want to hear. What other direct comparisons is there that makes the FL-18 worth the extra bucks?

Chase Walleyes,
Do you have a zercom lpg on your boat?If so do you plan on replacing it with your FL-18?
