Just received the Cabela's 2002 Spring Catalog at my work address (nothing at home yet?). Lots of new stuff. The Lowrance X-51, X-71, and X-91. Also the new Eagle line. Even noticed you can now get a tranducer inside the Minn Kota AP's and Maxxums (universal sonar?).

Now what...? Buy an close-out X-85 for 299.00, or look at the new stuff? I wonder if the previous differences between the Eagle line and the Lowrance line are still there? Think the universal sonar in the Minn Kota Maxxums is worth $80? I wonder how "universal" they are?

Eagle Fishmark 240 (probably replaced the optima)looks like a good buy. $314 with temp. Unit has 1,200 watts peak to peak.

I have soooo many questions. Should be fun stuff to discuss over the next couple months...

Happy New Year!!!!!

All the new stuff is 1200watts, looks as though 600 and 275 are going by the wayside. Look for flashers to fill the void as far as "quiet" sonar goes? Might also be dealing new transducer/speed temp connections? Good topic.

Now there is a distinct difference between Lowrance and Eagle, used to be if you weren't concerned with GPS an Eagle was a Lowrance but at a better price. My hope is that the power connections on these new Eagles havn't changed its obvious that the trtansducers have, the tepature built in transducer feature will be nice for the trolling motor. Have the power connections changed as well? Less than 3000watts hmmm could cut down on them crickets.

looked at an X-91 and spoke to a Lowrance rep, I wasn't kind, they have changed the connectors again, 3rd generation for me.....gray to black now to the NEW and Improved Grey connector,,,the hyperscroll looks like they are going after pinpoints claim to a faster refresh rate, they look nice...

Also new feature is going to be the ability to seperate and see fish in weeds and trees, now this is what they are claiming with the "FishReveal"....Also the X-51 and X-91 are not avaliable yet, and will be March or April before they get here. May not be any at the Boat shows to show to consumers and possibliy longer for the LMS 240.
