I have a question? The last day of the rcl Meleen said there were 8-10 foot waves, and on tv they didnt look that big? I woudl give them mabye a 5 footer. Were the measuring the waves vertically or distance between them? I dont want to sonund mean by any way i was just currious about this?

Im sure you would have to be there. From some of the overhead pics of the way the whitecaps were, I beleive it. Remember, when he was fishing catching that pike, he was close in to shore. He said he was in 12 ft water, I think. They didnt show what it was really like running in the open water. You didnt see any shots from the camera boat when they were making that long run. Im sure they couldnt even set up for a camera shot up during that stuff.
Besides, if it was only 5 ft waves, all the guys would have made that run. They wouldnt have gone all that way to find a safe harbor and start all over in the river.
They never look that bad until you are out there. (Even when you look at them from the launch]
