Kind of new at musky fishin...I here all the talk of braided line, 25lb test 40 lb steel line, etc etc.Caught two so far this year
one 36 inch , one 41 inch, i know they are just babies but i am using
8lb test and an ultra light rod , both took over 40 minutes to land and had em to the boat 10 times before landing. The second one was on july long weekend bass fishing yet. Did not even know there were musky there, had a small net only fit the head of the fish and grabbed it by the tail to land it...What a rush...Anyone know of good spots close to toronto????

fighting a musky for 40 minutes does it no favours, get a good rod and reel meant to take one on. I have caught fish upto 50" and never had to fight one for more than 5 minutes. They can then be released and are not exhausted.
