Just checking. I was convinced that it is ok to leave my batteries in my boat all winter in the garage which is not heated as long as they were fully charged. My buddy got concerned and pulled his out. I started thinking, went out hooked up charger, all three batteries are fully charged, so I should be ok right?

Grey Wolf,
As long as there is a full charge, you will not have any problems. I've been leaving mine outside the past three years and have not had any problems. I check mine the first of every month and top off the charge at that time as well.

I'd say you should be fine. I store four batteries in my boat (unheated) throughout the winter months and have never had a problem. As long as they are charged prior to storage, you'll be good to go come spring.

Seems to me that I read somewhere where fully charged batteries won't freeze until something like -70 degrees.

I agree, as long as the batteries are charged you should be ok. Just make sure you have unhooked them so that there is no chance of anything draining them over the winter. Had a bad experience years ago by leaving one hooked up, thinking that everything was off, but had a small ground in a bulge pump that drained the battery and it froze and bursted.
