When you say base mount do you mean the base on the rigger or the basemount that gets mounted on the gunnel? Also just wondering how much wire that model holds. I live in Duluth and am considering rigging for Lake Superior. Thanks Xplorer

The unit came with 150 ft. of wire, however it will hold at least twice that much. The base that I refered to is the mountig base that srews into the gunnel. The base hase a release mechanism that allows the rigger to be removed for out-of-the-way storage. I think the ball is a 10 pounder dipped with vinyl for the no scratch feature. I only used it 4,or5 times. The reason I'm selling is I want to go to board/mast system for Erie. Looks brand new. Let me know if your interested.
