Shad raps will catch fish anywhere, anytime and can be trolled at almost any speed. They get my vote:)

But the best Lake Erie lure isn't even listed..the polish wonder, Renoskys! Guess I'd go with a Reef Runner after that.

The Jr. wasn't on you poll, but this is my favorite in all situations. It caught upwards to 200 walleyes and sauger in the Mississippi this last fall, in the silver shad color. It doesn't always work the best, but it is the one I go to first. Next would be the Wally Diver, of which I voted for.

What pools you fishin'? I fish 2 and 4 quite a lot. This weekend is going to be perfect for getting down to 4, but I have to work of course.....

Over the past 3 years I have come to use and increasingly appreciate the Salmo line of crankbaits.

They produce a very high quality product that catch fish, the catch fish part caught me. For me the Bullhead has become a go to deep diver on the Red River as are the Whitefish, Minnow, and Sting models.

If you have never tried them I would highly recommend you pick up a few and see for yourself.

If interested in the product line check out there web site, a very cool site. Be sure to hit on the American flag to get the English version unless your fluent in reading Polish.

i got to agree with you on the jr thundersticks, ive caught a lot of walleye,s on saginaw bay with them and a lot of salmon & trout on lk mich and lk huron with them. shallow thundersticks run pretty good behind bottom bouncers on reservors also.

1/4 oz. Hot-n-tots are by far the best producer for us. Firetiger and Metallic green with black spots being our top two colors.

Goot a go with the old thunderstick jr. Here on the Mississippi, Eire, LBDN, doesn't matter, they just work. Hutch

I want to wonder up your way soon if them piggy's are on the chew. The weather looks good for this weekend maybe?

I posted under other, but I would have said 1/4 oz hot-tot, the older style produces well on lake Erie and Saginaw Bay.

Right on Gilligan nothing beats Renoskys on Eastern Basin of Erie. But I only make 2 or 3 trips a year there. Other than that it's Husky Jerks & floating Rapalas in the spring and Shad Raps in the summer SR5 & SR-7 perch and firetiger.

Rich.. I gave the Renoskys a good work out on Chautauqua this past spring and real well with them! Only problem is the muskies get in the game and don't always give them back :-(

Do they have a web site?

This will show you a picture of one. They really don't have a good website. Best to order the catalog for better pictures and color selection.

Shad Raps seem to have a big following, but what size, what color, and what depth are they being fished at? Also, are the Rapala, large, floaters, #11, #13, etc. what are being referred to as "stickbaits" or "Thundersticks, original style?"

In the "Canada" forum, one fellow said he caught several hundred eyes on "stickbaits." But, he didn't say what they were.

Atomic Eye -- "Gone Fission!" or is that "Fish-on?"

Sure looks like it would work to me.
Think I will have to get a couple and give them a try.
Thanks for the info.

1/4 and 1/2 oz. OLD style HotnTots-Both on Saginaw Bay and Erie. Also will hook up a Husky Jerks if things are slow.

I also Like to use the 5 1/2 inch Husky Jerks when the water is cooler, or not trolling and I am working a weed line or dropoff.

#7 black and gold shallow lipped. Folowed closely by crayfish. I usually run them in 5-7'.

To Me it hard to beat a # 5 shad rap in Blue/white or perch.
For trolling on boards over 5 feet of water run them 22 feet back and hold on tight.

1. Shad Rap (SR5-SR8) (Shad, Perch, Firetiger)
2. 1/4 oz. Hot-N-Tot (Perch and Black & White)
3. Wally Diver (Start w/Perch)
4. Deep Thunderstick Jr. (Chartruese)

Unless it's Erie, then replace all items above with Reef Runners (and who can pick only a couple colors of those!!)...
