I have been using 10/4 Fireline on my planer board rods the past few years with good results. Has anybody tried Power Pro for trolling planer boards?

I started using power pro this year for everything from boards to dipseys to jets. I use the 30/8 and i love it. For the in-lines i use the snapper release and it releases off the big boards pretty easy too. Just my .02.......Fish on.......Instigator#735

I have to agree with Instigator and Sunshine on this one. This stuff is the best line I have ever used bar none! Not the cheapest, but not far off from other super lines either. It's great to see a smaller company competing against the big boys in the line market. You have to make a pretty good line to even get put on the shelves next to the Berkleys and Strens!

Power Pro all the way here. Did several of my own little test this past year between whiplash, fire line and power pro. Either pulling in-line boards or the horses. Power pro won every one of em hands down. Hutch

There is a 20/6 powerpro (I think) that will outlast the 10/4 Fireline about 6 times over. Good stuff.

Hemmertime,
I think the above seven posts should answer you question. I have used it for the past two years and kind find downside to the stuff. Try a spool and you too should be converted.

Walter,
I have been using the 14/6 Fireline for all my Walleye trolling - cranks, harnesses, in-lines, big boards, etc. Has been great, really no complaints. However, when I get new line, I am getting the power pro for two main reasons. One is that I think it is more durable, it does not frey as much. Secondly, even though the fireline has great feel similar to a mono, power pro has a better feel. It is more limber but not so limp like spiderwire that tangles as easily.
I have been using the 30/8 powerpro on my dipsey applications and the 10/2 for the jigging applications for the last two years and really like it. I will probably switch over to the 20/6 on my daiwa's. It should match the 14/6 fireline depth using the trolling bible. Fireline is really good, powerpro is just better.
